Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of food safety standards. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards. The successful applicant will play a vital role in maintaining a vibrant, efficient, and hygienic kitchen environment while inspiring creativity and excellence among team members.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring smooth daily operations
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to uphold quality standards and consistency
Manage food production processes to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to ensure availability of ingredients at all times
Train staff on food safety practices, proper cooking techniques, and customer service standards
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Handle customer feedback professionally to resolve any issues promptly
Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, motivation, and professional growth

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
Extensive food production knowledge coupled with culinary expertise across various cuisines
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively
Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation standards
Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including inventory management and cost control
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Previous experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high-quality output
Effective communication skills for liaising with team members and management

Pay: £15.00 per hour
