Full job description

Cranbrook College is an established independent vocational training provider delivering high-quality education in Electrical Installation, Construction, Functional Skills and Adult Education. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Electrical Skills Tutor to join our growing team and support adult learners in achieving nationally recognised City & Guilds qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician who is passionate about teaching, mentoring and developing the next generation of electrical professionals.

The Role

You will deliver engaging classroom and workshop sessions while supporting learners throughout their training journey. The role also involves workplace assessment visits, monitoring learner progress and maintaining awarding body compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver classroom teaching for City & Guilds Electrical Installation qualifications.
Teach electrical principles, BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and inspection & testing.
Deliver practical workshop sessions including:
Safe Isolation
Wiring Systems
Containment
Inspection & Testing
Prepare learners for online examinations and AM2/AM2S assessments.
Assess learners against qualification standards.
Conduct workplace observations and collect NVQ evidence.
Provide one-to-one learner support and revision sessions.
Monitor attendance, learner progress and achievement.
Maintain learner portfolios and assessment records.
Participate in standardisation meetings and quality assurance activities.
Promote safeguarding, Prevent and Health & Safety throughout all teaching activities.
Ensure compliance with City & Guilds and College quality procedures.

Essential Requirements

Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
Significant industry experience as an electrician
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
Inspection & Testing qualification (2391-52 or equivalent)
Experience mentoring apprentices or trainee electricians
Level 3 Award in Education & Training (AET), or willingness to achieve within six months
TAQA/CAVA Assessor Qualification, or willingness to achieve within six months
Good IT skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to safeguarding and learner success

Desirable

Experience delivering City & Guilds qualifications
Previous experience in Further Education or Adult Education
Internal Quality Assurance experience

Pay: £31,300.00-£42,000.00 per year
