Web Developer – .NET, Blazor and Azure
About C-SAM
C-SAM develops specialist asset management, rental, service, certification and operational software for customers operating across the UK and international markets.
We are currently investing heavily in the development of our next-generation web application framework. This framework will modernise our established Windows-based software and provide a scalable, secure and configurable cloud platform for both existing and new customers.
We are looking for a practical and experienced Web Developer to join our development team and help build, improve and deliver this new platform.
The Role
The Web Developer will work primarily on C-SAM’s newest web application framework, developing reusable components, customer-facing modules, integrations and core platform functionality.
You will work across the full development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing improvement.
The role will also involve understanding and, where required, migrating functionality from our existing VB.NET, WinForms and SQL Server applications into the new web platform.
This is a hands-on development role suited to someone who enjoys solving real business problems, working with complex workflows and building software that is reliable, maintainable and easy for users to operate.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain functionality within C-SAM’s new .NET web application framework.
- Build reusable Blazor components, shared services and configurable application modules.
- Develop responsive and user-friendly web interfaces.
- Convert existing Windows application functionality into modern web-based workflows.
- Work with product owners, operational teams and customers to understand business requirements.
- Design and implement secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Develop and optimise Entity Framework queries and data access services.
- Create and maintain SQL Server stored procedures, views, functions and scripts.
- Improve application and database performance.
- Build integrations with customer systems, third-party APIs and cloud services.
- Assist with data migration, cleansing and validation activities.
- Develop authentication, role-based access and permission functionality.
- Support multi-company, multi-entity and multi-customer application structures.
- Write unit tests and assist with integration, regression and user acceptance testing.
- Diagnose and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Review code and contribute to development standards and architecture decisions.
- Produce clear technical documentation and implementation notes.
- Support application deployments to Azure environments.
- Work with AI-assisted development tools, including OpenAI Codex, to improve development speed and quality.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the framework, development processes and coding standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using C# and .NET.
- Experience developing web applications using Blazor Server, Blazor WebAssembly, ASP.NET Core or a similar Microsoft web technology.
- Strong SQL Server knowledge, including:
- T-SQL
- Stored procedures
- Views
- Joins and aggregations
- Query optimisation
- Indexing
- Execution plans
- Data migration scripts
- Experience using Entity Framework or Entity Framework Core.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Experience developing REST APIs and integrating with third-party services.
- Experience with dependency injection and service-based application architecture.
- Experience using Git and source control workflows.
- Good understanding of application security, authentication and role-based permissions.
- Ability to investigate and resolve complex technical and business problems.
- Ability to work with existing applications and understand established business logic.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing reliable, supportable software.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a small development team.

- Experience with document generation, barcode printing, label printing or local printing services.
- Experience integrating accounting, shipping, CRM, ERP or asset management systems.
- Experience working with AI development tools such as OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot or Azure AI services.
- Knowledge of prompt design, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation or vector search.
- Familiarity with secure software development practices and standards such as ISO 27001.
- Experience working within rental, asset management, service, maintenance, logistics or certification-based industries.

Qualifications and Experience
- A degree or equivalent qualification in software development, computer science or a related subject is desirable.
- Equivalent commercial experience will also be considered.
- Previous experience in a commercial software development role is required.
- Experience delivering business-critical software to external customers would be advantageous.
Working Arrangements
This role will involve working closely with C-SAM’s development, operations, professional services and management teams.
The position may be office-based, hybrid or remote depending on the successful candidate’s location and experience.
Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, customer workshops, implementation support or training.
Some flexibility may occasionally be required when supporting international customers operating in different time zones.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
