Job Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital support role, you will be the backbone of our food service operation, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for all culinary activities. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for both staff and guests, contributing to the overall excellence of our hospitality experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, vibrant setting while supporting the core functions of our kitchen.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards by washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support chefs and kitchen staff, such as peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients.
Ensure all work areas are sanitized and organized to promote a safe and efficient workspace.
Support the storage of food supplies and ingredients by organizing stock in designated areas.
Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to uphold environmental standards.
Assist in setting up dining areas or service stations as needed for meal service.
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a clean, safe environment for staff and guests.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key!
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Familiarity with restaurant or culinary settings enhances your ability to support the team effectively.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards hospitality service.
Willingness to undertake training related to food safety and handling procedures.
