Full job description

An confident and reilable Sales and accounts Administrator is required for our commercial parts distribution office in Basildon SS13

Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm

The position will be covering the bookkeeping of Sales and Purchase ledger accounts. A background knowledge of this would be favorable. Also to assist the sales team with answering phone calls, enquiries and order processing and have flexibility to cover annual leave in this department.

Purchase ledger duties include –

Checking supplier invoices/credits before being signed off
Posting supplier invoices and credits onto the system
Sending over weekly payment lists to head office
Checking supplier statements
Allocating payments once posted

Sales ledger duties include –

Posting and allocating customer payments onto the system daily.
Chasing late payers and sending payment reminders thoroughly
Sending customer statements
Checking remittances
Checking held invoices
Reporting updates weekly to the General manager

General Admin duties –

Managing the account’s emails
Filing of invoices and paperwork
Keeping spreadsheets for sales and purchase ledger up to date
Sending spreadsheets and reports over to head office as needed
Placing stationary orders
Keeping holiday spreadsheets and staff calendar up to date
Filling out timesheets

Sales team assistance –

Answer the sales phone when required
Be able to process an order on our in house system
Dealing with customer queries and admin

Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes

Book keeping/Accounts experience is not essential but is preferred.

Starting salary will be reviewed after probation and dependent on experience
