Full job description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our Finance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with credit control experience who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service and contributing to effective financial management.

Working closely with the Corporate Debt Manager, you will support the management of the accounts receivable ledger, helping to ensure that outstanding debts are recovered promptly and financial records are maintained accurately. You will communicate with a wide range of customers and colleagues, resolve account queries, monitor payment performance, and contribute to the overall success of the finance function.

The successful candidate will be organised, resilient, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Credit Controller

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively and support other colleagues to deliver Team Plans, Directorate and Corporate Plan.
Take a collaborative approach to delivering finance related advice and support across teams. Supporting colleagues to deliver positive outcomes, innovative yet proportionate solutions.
Actively encourage the sharing of knowledge, experience and resources across teams in the council.
Work effectively as part a team supporting your colleagues and achieving the required performance standards and targets

Skills Required

Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective Time Management
Organisational Skills
Proficiency in using work processing spreadsheet and presentation software
Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders
Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Educational Requirements

GCSE's including maths and English at grade C/4 or above
Higher education in finance accounting or a related field
