Are you a passionate and experienced chef looking to make a meaningful difference? Ashleigh Manor Residential Home is seeking a dedicated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering delicious, nutritious, and well-balanced meals that enhance the health and wellbeing of our residents.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in high-quality food, excellent kitchen standards, and leading a positive, supportive team.

About the Role
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the kitchen, ensuring all meals are prepared to the highest standards while meeting residents' dietary needs and preferences. You will lead by example, maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene, and quality at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare varied, nutritious, and appetising menus in line with residents' dietary requirements.
Lead, motivate, and support the kitchen team to deliver an outstanding catering service.
Manage stock levels, ordering, and budget control to minimise waste.
Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate food safety records and kitchen documentation.
Cater for special diets, allergies, and modified-texture meals.
Work closely with the home's management team to continually improve the dining experience for residents.
Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organised, and compliant with all relevant legislation.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or in a senior catering role.
Experience within a care home, healthcare, or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
A recognised food hygiene qualification (Level 3 Food Safety or equivalent is preferred).
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
A passion for producing high-quality meals and creating positive dining experiences.
Knowledge of special dietary requirements and nutrition for older people is an advantage.
