Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary arts and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure that all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards.
Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed while minimising waste.
Maintain a positive working environment, fostering teamwork and communication among kitchen staff.

Experience

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
Previous supervisory or team management experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations.
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
