Our Team
Our Restructuring & Insolvency team have a wide area of expertise, focusing on turnaround and insolvency matters; including advising clearing banks, alternative lenders, asset-based lenders, foreign and international banks, boards of directors, insolvency practitioners, debtors and other creditors on all matters arising where insolvency is likely unless action is taken by restructuring or where a formal insolvency is imminent or has occurred.
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring attendance in the office three days per week. While the role can be based in either London or Crawley, candidates located in the Crawley area must be comfortable travelling to London regularly to support the team and foster strong working relationships across the business.
Your Role and What You'll Be Doing
You'll be joining the London and Gatwick Restructuring & Insolvency (“R&I”) teams, headed by Partners, Kunal Gadhvi and Andrew Walker respectively. You will be supporting on a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. The R&I London team specialises in debt restructuring, business sales and acquisitions, cross-border restructurings, asset recovery, fraud investigations, and insolvency-related disputes. As a Restructuring & Insolvency Paralegal, you will play a key supporting role within a highly regarded team, working closely with Partners, Senior Associates, Associates and Solicitors on a broad range of insolvency and restructuring matters.
The role will be primarily focused on contentious insolvency work, providing support across a variety of insolvency litigation matters, including managing court deadlines, preparing bundles, conducting legal research, and assisting with the day-to-day progression of cases. You will also gain exposure to non-contentious restructuring and advisory work, particularly supporting the R&I London team on complex and high-profile matters. Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to assist on high-value restructuring and transactional advisory projects under Partner supervision, as well as sophisticated cross-border and offshore asset recovery matters, offering exposure to international work and complex multi-jurisdictional cases. While you will not necessarily manage your own caseload, the role offers exceptional exposure to market-leading work and an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise within a collaborative and supportive environment.
We're looking for someone who is an outstanding communicator with a proactive and team-oriented approach. Given the nature of the work, you'll be commercially aware, highly organised, and able to balance competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Most importantly, you'll understand the importance of delivering an outstanding client experience, combining efficiency and professionalism with a client-focused mindset in everything you do.
About You
Previous Paralegal experience in Restructuring & Insolvency or another litigation-focused practice area is essential
You must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in this area of law
A law degree
A friendly, proactive, and professional approach, with strong communication skills
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident in managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
