THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a role for someone who wants their next step in the industry not just their next job.
We’re looking for an experienced Production Artworker who can take a brief, a brand pack, or a design concept and turn it into flawless artwork, ready for wide-format print production whether that’s signage or vehicle branding. Right scale, right bleed, right colour, right cut paths, right the first time.
You’ll be a core part of the business. The files you set up and the production outputs you manage are the starting point for everything we produce every wrap, every sign, every install starts at your screen. That’s real responsibility, and it’s exactly why this role carries real opportunity.
Here’s the bit that matters if you’re ambitious: HG Graphics is a business built to let people grow and thrive. We’re recruiting A players, people who want to achieve, who want to develop their skills, and who want to be part of something that’s going somewhere. Adding value to the business is how you unlock your own progression here.
There’s a clear path forward for the right person, and the more you bring, the faster it opens up. Your personal goals and the business’s goals pull in the same direction that’s how we’ve built it.
If you’re the kind of person who’s been thinking “I’m ready for more” more variety, more responsibility, more development this is the role that makes that happen.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate has genuine, hands-on experience producing artwork for wide-format print within the sign, print, or vehicle graphics industry. You’re proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and Onyx print RIP software ideally Onyx Thrive.
You know how to prepare a file properly for production adding bleed, cut paths, and overlaps, managing colour, and exporting correctly for print. You understand how artwork behaves at scale, on different substrates, and on curved and complex surfaces. And you’re comfortable around the production side too running test prints and working with wide-format printers and cutting equipment such as HP Latex, Epson SureColor, Summa, VeloBlade, CAD cutting machines, and flatbed cutters.
More than that you’re accurate, organised, and calm under deadline pressure. You manage multiple jobs at once without letting details slip. You communicate clearly with the production floor and the installation team, because your files are the starting point for everything they do.
One thing worth being clear about: if you don’t have genuine production artwork experience within this industry, this role won’t be the right fit.
There’ll be full support on how we operate as a business, and real investment in developing your skills further but the core technical ability needs to come with you.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Day to day, you’ll be at the heart of the studio and the production floor:
- Artworking and design work, preparing files ready for wide-format print production — across signage and vehicle branding
- Adding bleed, cut paths, and overlaps, and making sure every file is production-ready first time
- Colour management and exporting — profiles, accuracy, and consistency across different substrates and print processes
- Running jobs and test prints through Onyx Thrive print RIP
- Running test prints on wide-format printers including HP Latex and Epson SureColor
- Working with cutting equipment including Summa, VeloBlade, CAD cutting machines, and flatbed cutters
- Setting up files for print production and managing production outputs as a core part of the business
- Producing client-facing proofs and visuals, and processing amends quickly and accurately
- Working closely with the print and installation teams so every job runs right the first time
As you add value and grow into the role, your responsibilities develop with you — towards artwork sign-off, studio workflow, and production ownership.
