We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the General Manager in our exciting new Goodness Restaurant in Trago Mills Newton Abbot. This is a full-time role for 39 hours per week and is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Our restaurant is open every day of the week from 9am-4pm, however working hours for the role are 8am-5pm. The ideal candidate will be available to work flexible hours, across all seven days including weekends.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Deputy Manager will play a key role in leading the team, maintaining operational standards, driving performance, and ensuring the restaurant consistently delivers outstanding service.

Responsibilities:

Support the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations.
Lead and motivate team members to provide exceptional customer service.
Manage shifts and oversee daily restaurant activities.
Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
Assist with recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.
Monitor stock levels, ordering, and waste control.
Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
Support the delivery of sales targets and profitability objectives.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
Conduct regular audits to ensure the shop is functional and presentable
Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the General Manager.

Requirements:

Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Manager or Supervisor experience within a catering environment is essential.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
Due to the tasks involved within this role, you must be 18 or over.
