Business Manager – Vehicle Rental & Leasing (Start-Up Leadership Role)

Location: The Parklands, Loughborough Road, Costock, Leicestershire, LE12 6XB

Salary: Starting £35000 + Performance Bonus + Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time

Are you an ambitious, results-driven leader with a proven track record in the vehicle rental or leasing industry? Do you have the expertise, industry contacts, and drive to build a business from the ground up? If so, we want to hear from you.

We are launching an exciting new vehicle rental and leasing division as a strategic extension of our highly successful used car dealership and vehicle maintenance group. To spearhead this venture, we’re looking for a hands-on Business Manager to take full ownership of developing and scaling the business.

About the Role

As Business Manager, you will lead the end-to-end setup, development, and operation of our vehicle rental and leasing business. Working closely with our in-house team (marketing, development, operations), you’ll be responsible for launching and growing this bolt-on business with the full backing of an established brand and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Full ownership of the business operations – from strategy to execution
Develop and implement competitive pricing models and sales strategies
Manage, monitor, and optimise vehicle inventory and availability
Lead the sales cycle – from lead generation to client onboarding and retention
Drive customer service excellence and uphold company reputation and values
Collaborate with marketing and digital teams to drive brand awareness and leads
Forecast growth, identify opportunities, and recruit additional team members as the business expands
Ensure compliance, documentation, and operational integrity across all processes

About You

Proven experience in vehicle rental, leasing, or fleet management
Strong industry network and supplier/partner relationships
Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build a business from scratch
Commercially savvy – you know how to price, promote, and sell
Computer literate and comfortable using fleet/rental management systems
A natural leader – organised, driven, and customer-focused
A track record of delivering results and working at pace
High level of integrity and professionalism
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
