Are you an experienced Procurement professional who wants to make a real impact in a growing, operationally focused business?

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to take ownership of procurement across Rapid Repair Network. This is a hands-on role for someone who will get into the detail, understand where our biggest areas of spend and opportunity are, and work closely with operational teams and suppliers to deliver measurable improvements.

With significant spend across repairers, vehicle parts and company vans, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine commercial impact while helping us develop and improve our procurement processes as the business continues to grow.

This is not a procurement role that simply sits behind a desk managing suppliers. We are looking for someone who will get operationally involved, challenge existing processes, measure performance and work with departments across the business to reduce cost, eliminate waste and improve service.

You’ll work closely with senior management and have the opportunity to influence how procurement develops as the business grows.

What do we do?

Rapid Repair Network is a leading national mobile vehicle repair business working with Accident Management Companies, Fleet providers and Insurers.

We attend the drivers of damaged but driveable vehicles at their location, preventing the need for many vehicles to go to a traditional bodyshop for repair.

Our skilled technicians and network repairers deliver complex automotive repairs across the UK, and we are continuing to grow and develop the business.

What can you expect?

You will take ownership of procurement across the business, focusing on our key areas of spend and identifying where you can make the greatest commercial and operational impact.

The role will be hands-on and will involve working closely with departments across the business to improve processes, reduce cost, eliminate waste and improve supplier and operational performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

Understanding the main areas of spend within the business and prioritising opportunities where procurement can have the biggest impact, implementing improvements in processes and measures to reduce cost while improving performance.
Owning the contractual documents within the business for suppliers and customers, ensuring appropriate contractual arrangements are in place and kept up to date, with key obligations communicated clearly to the relevant teams.
Developing strong relationships with parts suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and regularly market testing price and service to ensure the business is receiving the terms and service levels it should.
Reviewing the performance of the Parts department, with particular focus on lead times, right-first-time performance, consumable use and returns, with the objective of eliminating waste and improving efficiency.
Escalating significant supplier issues where required and working with suppliers to resolve problems effectively, using strong supplier relationships to facilitate escalation and resolution.
Managing the procurement of Vans and Company Cars, as approved by the Board, ensuring the business receives excellent rates and terms from vehicle providers.
Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers where required, ensuring they understand the requirements of the business and the processes and standards they are expected to follow.
Producing and monitoring procurement KPIs to understand performance, identifying underperforming areas and working with managers to address issues and deliver improvements.
Establishing an appropriate review cycle with parts suppliers, creating regular opportunities for both parties to provide feedback and identify improvement opportunities.
Preparing written reports for the Board covering procurement activity, savings identified and, importantly, the savings that have been realised.
Supporting the wider business with other procurement and commercial activities as required.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Procurement professional who is commercially minded, operationally focused and confident working across a business to drive change.

You’ll need to be someone who enjoys getting into the detail, understanding how things work and challenging the status quo where there is a better way of doing things.

Strong supplier management and negotiation skills are important, alongside the ability to analyse spend and performance data and turn this into practical actions.

You will be comfortable holding internal departments and external suppliers to account, while building the relationships needed to achieve positive outcomes.

We’re particularly interested in individuals who have experience of procurement within an operational, automotive, fleet, vehicle, parts, repair, logistics or similarly supplier-driven environment.

Most importantly, you will be commercially focused, proactive and able to demonstrate tangible improvements and savings through your work.
