£15 to £16 per hour
£31,000 to £33,000 per annum
Alternatively option to work 28 to 35 hours per week if more suitable

What does the role generally require and include:

This role supports our head office team with daily administration, stock enquiries, maintenance organisation, sundries buying, POS production, vehicle bookings, health & safety admin and project support. You will work across multiple departments, helping ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations for our four garden centres.

Applicants must have excellent IT skills and a strong understanding of software programs and spreadsheets.

We use Microsoft Excel for most tasks, so good knowledge of formulas, formatting and filters is essential.

Joyners Plants Ltd is a leading regional retailer and grower of garden plants and horticultural products at four large garden centre stores located at Plymouth, Newton Abbot, Exeter and Yeovil. We employ between 85 to 125 employees when at peak trading. Established since 1959 our company operates profit share schemes and bonus schemes by invitation for employee’s. The company plans to continue to expand and so we are recruiting for new full time positions.

Skills required for this role are:

Exceptional attention to detail
Highly organised and able to prioritise
Strong Excel skills including basic formulas
Ability to use mental maths to check sums
Good levels of written and spoken English
Ability to work within a team
Good understanding of IT systems and software

Desirable:

Experience in administration
Experience in stock management or purchasing

Responsible For

Role specifics – Full in-house training provided:

Responding to stock enquiries via email and Facebook
Using our business admin program to send reminders, chase responses
Supporting health & safety administration
Assisting with expansion project admin and documentation
Producing regular reports and spreadsheet updates
Data entry, data checking and analysis
Holiday cover for other office roles when required

Buying & Stock Management

Growing Program ingredient buying
Sundries buying, stock checks and replenishment
Fuel stock level monitoring and ordering

Maintenance & Vehicle Organisation

Booking vehicles for repairs, servicing and inspections
Organising maintenance repairs and ordering required items
Coordinating responses to daily operational issues

POS Production

Producing point‑of‑sale material for stores
POS warehouse stock management

Additional Requirements

Employment Specifics:

Monday to Friday role
Occasional shop‑floor support during peak trading periods
£15.00 to £16.00 per hour, 35–40 hours per week (exact hours to be agreed)
Holiday allowance approx. 28 days (pro‑rata)
Full on‑site training provided
