Job Summary

Join our vibrant café team as an experienced Barista / Cafe Team Member and be the heart of a lively, welcoming environment! In this role, you will craft delicious beverages, serve customers with enthusiasm, and ensure every guest has an exceptional experience. Your energy and attention to detail will help create a warm atmosphere where customers feel valued and appreciated.

The role is based on a minimum of 15 hours per week, Saturdays will form part of the work schedule.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with precision and care
Greet customers warmly, take their orders accurately, and provide friendly, efficient service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
Follow food safety standards diligently to ensure all products are handled and stored properly
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches and light lunches as needed
Manage cash register transactions accurately using basic math skills, including handling payments and giving change
Prioritize time management to serve customers promptly during busy periods while maintaining quality standards

Qualifications

Previous barista experience is preferred; enthusiasm is essential
Knowledge of food safety practices and standards is highly desirable
Experience in serving customers in fast-paced environments demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
Ability to perform basic math calculations confidently for cash handling and transactions
Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
Willingness to follow health guidelines and safety procedures diligently
A positive attitude, reliability, and eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment
