Immediate opportunity for a Supply Chain Analyst to join our Supply Chain Management Department. This is a site based role with an opportunity for flexitime and hybrid working* (1-2 days/week) after probationary period.

Blackwood Engineering Ltd is a global business based in the heart of the Welsh Valleys. We supply metal castings and counterweights to construction industry OEMs such as JCB and Caterpillar and our stock management system is complex and stretches across the world – from the UK to Europe, America and Central and East Asia.
This is an exciting role based within our important Supply Chain Team at Blackwood Engineering. You will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and be responsible for meeting stock control and shipping targets. Key to this will be the provision of accurate shipping plans to our suppliers whilst ensuring on-site stock levels are maintained. This will involve the daily analysis of customer demand and the creation of supplier schedules in consideration of production lead times, freight risks, shipping timescales and stock issues.
Essential

· Experience with working with MRP/ material planning systems and an understanding of MRP principles, including demand planning, lead times, safety stock and inventory requirements.
· Previous experience within a manufacturing, supply chain, planning or purchasing environment
· Experience using ERP systems within a manufacturing or supply-chain environment
· Understanding of inventory management and stockholding principles
Job Outline
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager (SCM), the core function of this role is to create and provide accurate shipping plans to the company’s suppliers whilst ensuring on site stock levels are maintained in line with the company’s stock holding policy. Analysing customer demand and creating supplier schedules whilst considering lead times, freight risks and stock issues.
Specifically, your duties will include:
· Supplier ordering – carry out weekly supplier ordering, creating shipping plans, updating ERP system with new orders
· Customer demand management – obtaining orders/schedules, updating ERP system, and creating shipping plans for the suppliers, using customer portals
· Monitoring and distributing supplier arrears, follow up where required and highlight potential supply issues
· Liaising with other departments to ensure all samples/phase out parts are ordered in line with their requirements
· Carry out detailed analysis of supplier schedules to ensure stock is in place as per the company’s stock holding policies
· Reconciliations – Reconcile shipping plans from suppliers to ERP system to ensure accuracy, ensure only parts are shipped to the plans.
· Monitor and report on relevant departmental KPI’s
· Manage stock transfers between sites, analyse what needs moving, follow procedures for moving stock
· Assist Supply Chain Manager with other tasks as and when required
· Work closely with other departments to ensure relevant intel is considered when placing supplier orders
· Lean Champion for SCM department – take a lead role in Lean improvement project events for the SCM team, including managing the departmental Kaizen board. Work closely with SCM to agree Lean Kaizen improvement events
· Shipping costs – manage the shipping cost spreadsheet. Work closely with finance, sales and SCM Team to ensure all costs are captured, accurate and up to date
· ERP/ MRP Project – work with SCM Manager to support the future implementation and development of MRP functionality
