The Estates Department is looking for a Maintenance Assistant with a background preferably gained in grounds maintenance working in a building services or healthcare environment to join the Maintenance Team.

This will be a development role enabling the successful applicant to undertake suitable training and giving them the opportunity to progress further within the Estates department.

Carrying out grounds maintenance works to ensure a welcoming environment for staff and visitors is a key element of this post. This will include ensuring the site is kept clean and clear of litter, maintaining internal courtyards, assisting Environment Operative with external grounds/garden maintenance.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake maintenance within the hospital environment completing planned maintenance dockets and defect dockets.

The successful applicant may also be required to assist with other building related tasks as well as mechanical and electrical building services in plant rooms and ward areas.

The applicant must have the physical ability and agility to carry out manual handling.

A current valid full driving license would be an advantage.
