Transport Administration Clerk

Location: Coatbridge
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week)

Summary of Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Transport Administration Clerk to join a busy transport operation in Coatbridge. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of transport activities, maintaining accurate records and supporting drivers, planners and customers.

Responsibilities

Accurately process transport and delivery documentation
Update internal systems with vehicle, driver and delivery information
Monitor and maintain transport records and compliance paperwork
Liaise with drivers regarding routes, schedules and delivery updates
Handle customer enquiries and provide timely updates on deliveries
Produce reports and maintain spreadsheets as required
Support the transport team with general administrative duties
Ensure all records are maintained in line with company procedures

Skills and Knowledge

Previous administrative experience, ideally within a transport or logistics environment
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Accurate data entry and record-keeping skills
Proactive and reliable approach to work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

Previous experience within transport, logistics or distribution
Knowledge of transport documentation and compliance requirements
Experience working with transport management systems
