Bookkeeper - Part-Time

I am recruiting a Part-Time Bookkeeper as a friendly and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Milton Keynes.

Location: The Open University Campus, Milton Keynes
Salary: £16,640 - £17,680 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: 20 hours per week, with the potential to increase
Working pattern: Flexible, including school hours

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a flexible role within a welcoming and supportive accountancy practice?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing accountancy firm at an early stage. The practice offers flexibility around the working day, with school hours available, alongside a convenient office setting with free parking and excellent facilities.

The Role

As a Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:

Recording financial transactions accurately
Completing bank reconciliations
Checking balance sheet control accounts
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Preparing basic monthly management accounts, with commentary
Contacting clients to obtain the information required
Communicating confidently with clients through meetings, telephone calls and messages
Providing proactive support to help clients understand and improve their financial records
Managing your workload effectively and meeting agreed deadlines

About You

The successful candidate will:

Hold a minimum of AAT Level 3
Have at least three years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice or as a self-employed Bookkeeper
Be confident using Xero & Quickbooks, with Bright software experience also desirable
Be able to manage their own workload and work independently
Have excellent organisation and attention to detail
Communicate confidently and professionally with clients
Be able to work from the company’s office on The Open University campus in Milton Keynes
