Full job description

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced, organised, and compassionate Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. We are a 38 bedded Dementia Accredited residential care home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and enjoys leading a team in a care setting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and support the housekeeping team.
Develop and manage cleaning schedules to ensure all areas of the home are maintained to a consistently high standard.
Ensure residents' bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and offices are clean, hygienic, and well presented.
Monitor and maintain stocks of cleaning products, equipment, and linen.
Ensure all housekeeping procedures comply with infection prevention and control guidelines.
Carry out regular quality checks and address any housekeeping issues promptly.
Train, induct, and support new housekeeping staff.
Work closely with the Home Manager and other departments to provide an excellent service for residents.
Follow all health and safety policies and report maintenance issues as required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

Previous housekeeping experience, ideally in a care home, healthcare, or hospitality setting.
Experience supervising or leading a housekeeping team.
Good knowledge of infection control, COSHH, and health and safety procedures.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
A positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine commitment to providing a high-quality environment for older people.
