First of all, why do we exist and what do we do?
addmustard is an award-winning brand, marketing and technology agency for entrepreneurs.
We add the strategic and creative fire-power of an advertising agency, to the precision and incision of a digital marketing agency, to grow the value of our clients' businesses.
We are a team of 35 brilliant brand, marketing and technology experts: a core in-house team based in the United Kingdom: Soho, London and Brighton, Sussex. Supported by a network of specialists from around the world.
How do we add value to our clients?
addmustard has worked with over 50 founders since 2013. We've created spectacular investment success stories and exits.
Our roots are the in-house marketing team of a VC-backed start-up that grew to £350m in four years.
We're hired directly by investors to help grow the value of their investments.
We've:
- Increased the value of a telecoms to cybersecurity business from £240m to £795m
- Turned a £10.1m loss into a £4.3m operating profit for a luxury retailer
- Enabled a 27x exit multiple for an online travel business
- Added £19.5m of brand value through an integrated campaign for an estate agent
And who exactly are we looking for?
Our brand and culture are bold, precise, energetic and irreverent. You will need to be all four, too. And because our clients are entrepreneurial, you need to have or be keen to develop an understanding of the unique challenges of working with entrepreneurs and their businesses.
We're looking for an intuitive, commercially-minded Paid Media Manager to join our experienced Performance team, working closely with our Head of Paid Media. This is an execution-focused role: you will take the strategy set by the Head of Paid Media and turn it into brilliantly run, high-performing campaigns across a portfolio of client accounts.
You will be the person clients and colleagues turn to for a clear, confident read on performance - translating data into insight, and insight into action, for audiences ranging from your immediate team to senior client stakeholders. Communication of performance sits at the heart of this role: you own that story, internally and directly with clients, and you make sure delivery of the strategy never loses momentum.
Day to day, you will manage the delivery of the strategy end to end: campaign build, optimisation, budget pacing, testing and reporting - working with in-house and external teams to keep performance moving in the right direction. You'll develop a strong understanding of each client's products, audiences, commercial objectives and customer journey, using these insights to optimise performance and deliver confident, commercially-focused reporting. We also want someone curious about where paid media is heading, who proactively brings new ideas, tests and platforms to the table – from emerging formats and automation through to AI-driven advertising products – for discussion with both the Head of Paid Media and clients.
This is a great next step for an experienced paid media professional – ideally with at least 3 years' experience, potentially a senior executive ready to make the move up – looking to work across a range of ambitious, fast-moving clients, from early-stage startups to established businesses scaling for growth.
Objectives and responsibilities of the role:
- Execute the paid media strategy set by the Head of Paid Media across a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring every campaign is built, run and optimised to the highest standard
- Own the communication of performance – translating data into clear, actionable insight for internal teams and for clients, in the right format for each audience
- Manage the delivery of paid media strategy end to end: campaign build, budget pacing, testing, optimisation and reporting, developing a strong understanding of each client's products, audiences and business objectives to maximise performance
- Proactively identify and bring forward new ideas, tests and platforms – including emerging AI-driven advertising platforms such as OpenAI's – for discussion with the Head of Paid Media and with clients
- Partner with the data, SEO, CRO and creative teams to extract and analyse performance data, generating insights that strengthen wider digital marketing strategy and campaign optimisation
- Own quarterly business reviews and performance reporting for your accounts, and contribute to new business pitches and proposals
- Audit new business accounts to identify quick wins, breaches of best practice, and opportunities for addmustard
- Work with SEO, CRO and creative teams to improve landing pages, messaging and creative, ensuring paid media supports the wider customer journey
- Support forecasting and target-setting for each client's business, and contribute to attribution model insights where needed
- Build strong working relationships with client stakeholders, acting as a trusted day-to-day contact while driving the trading and performance of client products through informed paid media optimisation

How will we measure you?
- Campaign performance: measurable improvement in the KPIs that matter most to each client's business
- Delivery: strategy translated into consistently well-executed, well-optimised campaigns, delivered on time and to a high standard
- Communication of performance: clear, confident, insight-led reporting that demonstrates a strong understanding of client products, audiences, commercial objectives and opportunities for growth.
