Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and be proficient in various construction techniques. This role involves working on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial builds, renovations, and repairs. The Carpenter will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Duties

Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard.
Perform joinery tasks, including cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete tasks.
Execute roofing tasks as required, ensuring proper installation and waterproofing.
Carry out masonry work when needed to support carpentry projects.
Measure, cut, and shape materials to specified dimensions accurately.
Plumb structures to ensure they are level and properly aligned.
Undertake heavy lifting as necessary for transporting materials and equipment on-site.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following health and safety regulations.

Skills

Proficient in the use of power tools such as saws, drills, and sanders.
Strong understanding of joinery techniques and carpentry principles.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely without compromising personal safety or that of others.
Experience with roofing installations is advantageous.
Basic masonry skills would be beneficial but not essential.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
A commitment to maintaining high-quality workmanship throughout all projects.
