Full job description

Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Workshop Technician to join our team, specialising in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of cold rooms and temperature-controlled environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical skills, a strong work ethic, and an eye for detail who enjoys working in a workshop and occasionally on customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

Build and assemble cold room panels, doors, and associated components.
Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on existing cold rooms.
Install refrigeration-related fixtures and insulation systems.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Prepare materials and equipment for workshop projects and site installations.
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment when required.
Complete job documentation and report progress to the Workshop Manager.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Practical experience in construction, fabrication, joinery, mechanical assembly, or a similar hands-on trade.
Competent using hand and power tools.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence. (Experience in towing would be great).
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable:

Experience building or maintaining cold rooms, refrigerated environments, or insulated panel systems.
Experience working with refrigeration or HVAC equipment.
Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one).
