Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care for animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of the animals while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners.

Split shifts are required 7am to 11am then 330pm to 600 pm

THIS JOB IS PENDINE

Duties

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and cats.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist with administering medications as directed by veterinary professionals.
Engage with pet owners, providing updates on their pets and addressing any questions or concerns.
Support the team in managing heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance.

Experience

Previous veterinary experience is highly desirable but not essential; a passion for animal care is crucial.
Experience in customer service roles will be beneficial for interacting with pet owners effectively.
Ability to handle heavy lifting tasks associated with animal care and kennel maintenance.
A strong understanding of animal behaviour and needs will enhance your effectiveness in this role. If you are enthusiastic about animal welfare and possess the necessary skills to thrive as a Kennel Assistant, we encourage you to apply and become part of our caring team.
