Full job description

We are looking for a motivated, caring, and enthusiastic Pharmacy Dispenser to join our busy NHS community pharmacy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a real difference to patient care.

Whether you are an experienced dispenser or currently working towards a dispensing qualification, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Dispense NHS and private prescriptions accurately under the supervision of the pharmacist.
Assemble medicines and prepare prescriptions for final accuracy checking.
Manage repeat prescriptions and assist with prescription ordering.
Receive and manage pharmaceutical stock, including stock rotation and expiry date checks.
Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
Support pharmacy services including Pharmacy First, blood pressure checks, flu vaccinations, and other NHS services.
Maintain accurate records and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Assist with housekeeping and ensure the pharmacy remains clean, organised, and professional.
Promote confidentiality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance at all times.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working in a community pharmacy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Friendly, professional, and patient-focused approach.
Good IT and organisational skills.
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.

Desirable Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).
Accredited Pharmacy Dispenser qualification.
Experience using ProScript Connect or other PMR systems.
Knowledge of NHS pharmacy services and repeat dispensing.
