Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Roofer/Labourer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. This role involves various roofing tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of roofs, as well as general labour duties on construction sites.

Duties

Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using various materials such as shingles, metal, and tiles.
Follow schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate installation of roofing structures.
Assist in the fabrication of roofing components and other construction materials as needed.
Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete tasks.
Perform masonry work when required, including bricklaying and stonework.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct heavy lifting and manoeuvring of materials on-site.
Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure project completion.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times.

Skills

Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to roofing and construction tasks.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints accurately.
Experience in masonry work is advantageous but not essential.
Strong understanding of building principles, including plumb and level techniques.
Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks consistently throughout the day.
Welding skills are a plus for certain roofing applications.
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues on-site.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail.
