Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC / Edgebander Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machinery and edgebanding equipment to produce high-quality wood and composite products. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication, mechanical knowledge, and materials handling to contribute to a dynamic production environment. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills within a professional setting.

Duties

Operate CNC machines and edgebanding equipment efficiently, ensuring precise cuts and finishes according to specifications.
Programme, set up, and adjust machinery using CAD files
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on machinery to minimise downtime.
Handle materials safely, including loading raw materials and managing finished products within the warehouse.
Use hand tools and tooling to assist with assembly, adjustments, or minor repairs as required.
Maintain a clean and organised work area in compliance with health and safety standards.
Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of components.
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

Proven experience in fabrication, or similar manufacturing roles; warehouse experience is advantageous.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAD software, and SolidWorks is desirable.
Mechanical knowledge related to tooling, materials handling, welding, and assembly processes.
Ability to operate hand tools effectively and perform basic math calculations for measurements and adjustments.
Strong understanding of materials properties and handling procedures within a manufacturing environment.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
Prior experience working with CNC machinery or edgebanding equipment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
Ability to work safely around industrial equipment, adhering strictly to health & safety regulations.
