Full job description

Overview

We are a friendly family run MOT Station/Garage seeking a Workshop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our busy workshop environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all non-management staff, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. An understanding of the dynamics of a family run business is essential. We pride ourselves on creating a happy friendly place to work.

You will also benefit from working half day mid-week (38hr working week).

The Garage Workshop Supervisor will play a pivotal role in coordinating tasks, supervising work processes, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective management.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily workshop activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards
Coordinate the scheduling of repairs and maintenance jobs, prioritising workload to meet deadlines
Lead and motivate a team of technicians and reception staff.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
Conduct quality control inspections on completed work to maintain service standards
Manage inventory levels of tools, parts, and equipment, placing orders when necessary
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labour hours for reporting purposes. Promote a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement and professional development.
Responsibilities may change from time to time.

Qualification

Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure
Good communication skills to liaise with team members and customers effectively
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to workshop operations
Ability to problem-solve quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 certificate is preferred or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Pay: From £32,000.00 per year
