Duties

Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients following pharmacy protocols and safety guidelines
Verify prescriptions for correctness, dosage, and appropriateness before dispensing
Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and packaging to ensure timely delivery
Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries and offering medication guidance
Maintain organized records of dispensed medications, inventory levels, and prescription details
Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring compliance with legal standards
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify prescriptions and resolve any discrepancies or issues

Requirements

Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar medication dispensing role, NVQ 2 dispensing qualification required.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing and recordkeeping
Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and maintain confidentiality at all times
Basic understanding of patient care principles related to medication management
Certification or training in pharmacy practice or medication .
