Legal Secretary
We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our busy Conveyancing team, based in Inverness.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing secretarial and administrative support across the Conveyancing department.
- Preparing legal documents, letters and forms accurately.
- Managing diaries, booking meetings and arranging client appointments.
- Opening and closing files in line with firm procedures and compliance requirements.
- Liaising with clients, legal firms, banks, and third parties in a professional and confidential way.
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail, calls and emails.
- Maintaining case records and ensuring documents are filed correctly.
- Carrying out searches with relevant authorities and reporting search results and valuation reports to the appropriate person within the Conveyancing team
- Completing relevant paperwork in connection with the submission of the Land and Buildings Transaction Tax Return to Revenue Scotland.
- Completing Registration Forms, as appropriate, for acceptance by the Keeper/Books of Council & Session
- Arranging for registration of the disposition and the registration of any charges following completion
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, within Conveyancing
- Strong audio typing and IT skills. Knowledge of LawWare case management software is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload.
- Clear and professional communication skills with a client-focused approach
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality
- Strong team working skills, while also being able to work on own initiative.
