About the Role
Limetree Developments West Ltd is looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Reception & Accounts Administratorto join our team in a varied part-time role combining reception, general administration and basic accounts/bookkeeping duties.
Based at our Forth Street office in central Edinburgh, the role benefits from excellent public transport links as well as free on-site parking for staff.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied working day and would like to develop their skills across administration and accounts. You do not need to have experience in every aspect of the role, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
The position will initially be 2 days per week until the end of December 2026, working 8:30am to 4:30pm.
From January 2027, the position will increase to 4 days per week, with the opportunity for hybrid working, allowing you to split your working week between our Edinburgh office and working from home once you are fully trained and established in the role.
Key ResponsibilitiesReception & Administration
- Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, suppliers and contractors
- Answering and directing telephone calls and emails
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence
- General office administration, filing and document management
- Maintaining accurate records and updating company systems
- Assisting with scheduling, documentation and day-to-day office tasks
- Providing general administrative support to the wider team
- Helping to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently
Accounts & Bookkeeping
- Carrying out basic bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
- Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
- Recording payments, receipts and expenses
- Assisting with bank reconciliations
- Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Using Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for accounts and administrative tasks
- Liaising with suppliers and customers regarding invoices and payments
- Assisting with general accounts administration and financial reporting
- Supporting the accountant and management team with other finance-related tasks as required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, professional and approachable
- Organised, dependable and highly reliable
- Confident communicating by telephone, email and in person
- Numerate and comfortable working with figures
- Accurate, with good attention to detail
- Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks – previous experience with both would be advantageous, although not essential
- Able to work independently and manage their own workload
- Equally comfortable working as part of a wider team
- Keen to learn and develop new skills
- Discreet and trustworthy when handling confidential or financial information
Previous experience in reception, administration, bookkeeping or accounts would be advantageous, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
We are particularly interested in finding someone with the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
What We Offer
- £26,437 – £31,200 FTE, pro rata depending on experience
