Full job description

Weekend Bakery Assistant (Cakes) required on a temporary basis.

Saturdays 7am - 3pm.

2-3month contract, with the possibility to stay on additionally after.

Duties

Assist in preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes, following established recipes and safety standards
Support food preparation tasks such as mixing, portioning, and decorating baked items to ensure presentation quality
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery workspace, including equipment and utensils
Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure all products meet health standards
Help with stocking ingredients and supplies to keep the bakery well-equipped for weekend operations
Provide friendly customer service by packaging baked goods and answering basic product questions when needed
Support team members during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks in the kitchen environment

Experience

Previous experience in food production, baking, or kitchen work is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
Familiarity with food safety practices and hygiene standards in a commercial kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous
Basic culinary skills such as food preparation and cooking techniques are beneficial
Experience working in a fast-paced environment or restaurant experience will help you excel in this role
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with bakery work is essential

This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their culinary skills while contributing to a lively bakery atmosphere. We value energetic team players committed to delivering delicious baked goods with care and precision!

Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
