Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Part Time Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in a lively café environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a welcoming atmosphere, preparing and serving food and beverages, cash handling and ensuring the smooth operation of daily café activities. You must have full flexibility 9-5 Monday-Saturday every week

Duties

Greet customers warmly and take their orders with attentiveness and professionalism
Prepare hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to quality standards
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as required
Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system and provide correct change
Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout shifts
Follow food safety regulations diligently to ensure customer safety and satisfaction
Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery

Qualifications

Previous barista experience or serving experience is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
Ability to work well within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers
Friendly, approachable manner with a positive attitude towards customer service
Organised with an eye for detail to maintain cleanliness and order in the café environment
