Duties include:

The Safer Communities CCTV & ARC Co-Ordinator will lead and manage the CCTV Team and Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), with responsibility for the effective delivery of the Council’s monitoring, emergency response and out‑of‑hours service functions, ensuring that CCTV and ARC resources are effectively deployed, compliant and operating to a high standard. The postholder will undertake coordinated activity with internal services and external partners to respond to anti‑social behaviour, crime and wider community safety issues, using CCTV monitoring, intelligence and out‑of‑hours contact handling to support timely, proportionate and effective interventions.

The role will lead and coordinate operational delivery and work alongside the Service leads to develop, coordinate and deliver CCTV and security projects, ensuring the continuous development and implementation of digital and surveillance technologies to enhance service performance and innovation. The postholder will use data and intelligence to monitor, assess and manage performance and emerging issues, enabling a proactive response to immediate or developing threats, risks and harm, while supporting policy development, engagement and continuous service improvement.

The postholder must possess excellent communication skills, be able to develop positive relationships, and work in partnership with residents, businesses, stakeholders, elected members, and community, voluntary, and faith sector organisations. Building on community strengths, using an asset-based community development approach that reflects specific local conditions and the stakeholder landscape and dynamics.
