Full job description

The Kithmore, formerly known as the Ardgowan is opening summer 2026. Set across two Georgian townhouses the hotel will feature 44 bedrooms and a 60-cover restaurant and bar.

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and welcoming Hotel Receptionist to join our front desk team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment, contributing to guest satisfaction and overall hotel operations.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in and check-out procedures
Handle guest enquiries efficiently via phone, email, or in person, maintaining excellent phone etiquette
Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications accurately using the hotel management system
Provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and services to enhance guest experience
Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary
Process payments securely and maintain accurate financial records
Maintain a tidy and organised reception area at all times
Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest rooms are prepared and facilities are functioning properly
Uphold high standards of hospitality, ensuring all guests feel valued and comfortable

Experience

Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Multilingual or bilingual skills are highly desirable to assist diverse guests effectively
Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette are essential
Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding guest services with a friendly and professional demeanour
Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and customer service best practices will be advantageous

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality who thrive in a fast-paced environment. We value organisational skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to create memorable experiences for our guests.

Shifts - 4 days over 7 - Early 7am-330pm, Late 230pm - 11pm. Mid Shift 12-830pm when needed for the business. With flex of 5 days over 7 when needed.
