Full job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Singleton Birch!

In this role you will work closely with Plant Supervisors and production teams to ensure machinery is safe and operating with minimal downtime. You will carry out a mix of planned and preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and improvement projects, while also supporting the upkeep of mechanical systems and infrastructure across the site.

Main Responsibilities:

Working closely with Plant Supervisors to drive maintenance and improvement plans.
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical systems across a large, manufacturing site in accordance with company EH&S guidelines.
Carrying out breakdown diagnostics (RCA) and supporting with the elimination of repeat failures.
Executing the mechanical equipment specific inspections as per CMMS schedule.
Managing and monitoring spare parts, ensuring optimal stock levels and compliance with stores procedures.

Important: This role will be required to work days, evening and nights on a rota basis. Additionally, there will be on-call duties that include Saturdays.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A NVQ Level 3/4 in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of Conveyor Systems, Crushers, Screens, Pneumatic & Hydraulic systems would be an advantage
The ability to read technical drawings
The ability to Work at Height and in Confined Spaces with relevant training provided
An understanding and experience of HSE and quality requirements in a maintenance/manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of maintaining a wide range of manufacturing equipment and ancillary.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
IT skills (Excel, word, power point, emails, calendars,)
