What you’ll be doing
As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.
Key responsibilities

Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing

Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.

Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.

Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.

Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.

Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)-
Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)

Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

- Services delivered in store: This well-established Boots Opticians practice provides a range of NHS and private optical services and is one of the few stores in the area equipped with Optomap technology, supporting enhanced retinal imaging and excellent clinical care. The store was refreshed last year, creating a modern and welcoming environment for both patients and colleagues.
- Team structure: You will join a supportive and collaborative team of experienced optical professionals. The store currently benefits from a resident Optometrist team, a part-time Contact Lens Optician, experienced Optical Consultants and Dispensing Optician support, all working together to deliver exceptional patient care. The practice forms part of a wider hub of six stores across West Sussex and Surrey, offering excellent opportunities for collaboration and development.
Located in the heart of Crawley, the store benefits from excellent transport links, with both bus and train stations just a short walk away. Convenient multi-storey parking is available nearby, with both daily and monthly parking options. Crawley offers the perfect balance of town-centre convenience and access to the beautiful Sussex countryside, while also being ideally positioned for travel to London, Brighton and the South Coast.
