Job Title: Print Finishing Operator

Location: South Shields, Tyne & Wear
Job Type: Full Time
Reports To: Production Manager
Salary: Starting at NMW
Industry: Print

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Print Finishing Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining print finishing equipment, to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of printed materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain a variety of finishing equipment, including:
Saddle stitchers
Folding machines
Packing
Drilling
Warehousing
Set up machines according to job specifications and customer requirements.
Inspect and verify job instructions and quality throughout the finishing process.
Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and product quality.
Monitor workflow to ensure production deadlines are met.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
Always ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of production output and machine performance.
Collaborate with other production team members and departments to optimize workflow.

Skills and Qualifications:

Ability to read and interpret job tickets and finishing specifications.
Basic understanding of print production and quality control.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit and able to lift moderate loads.

Desirable:

Familiarity with other finishing processes such as laminating, binding.
Experience in stitching/guillotine.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Quality focused with good communication skills.
Positive approach and ability to work under pressure.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm (1hr Lunch) – overtime and flexibility required.
