Full job description

Bookkeeper (Part-Time – 3 Days per Week)

Location: Glenbervie House & Country Estate
Hours: 3 days per week (flexible days by agreement)

Glenbervie House & Country Estate is looking for an organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional who enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced hospitality environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the management team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial administration of the estate, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained and supporting the smooth running of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Daily bookkeeping and financial record keeping
Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments
Bank reconciliations
Sales ledger and purchase ledger management
Credit control and monitoring outstanding payments
Processing receipts and expense claims
Maintaining accurate VAT records and assisting with VAT returns
Preparing financial information for management and external accountants
Assisting with month-end procedures
Using Xero accounting software for all bookkeeping activities
General finance administration as required

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous bookkeeping experience in a similar role
Strong working knowledge of Xero accounting software
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational and time management skills
The ability to work independently and manage their own workload
Strong communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Hospitality experience is preferred, as an understanding of the operational and financial demands of the industry will be an advantage.
