Job Summary

JKN Engineering are seeking a skilled Machinist specialising in CNC and manual machining to join our manufacturing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various machine tools to produce precision components, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of materials, including plastics and metals, in a dynamic environment that values technical expertise and attention to detail. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about manufacturing and mechanical processes.

Duties

Operate CNC and manual machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders to produce components according to specifications.
Interpret technical drawings using CAD software such as 3d SolidWorks and CAD programmes to ensure accurate machining.
Set up and calibrate machines, including tooling selection and adjustments for optimal performance.
Perform grinding, milling, drilling, and welding tasks as required to complete projects.
Utilise hand tools and power tools for assembly, finishing, or minor repairs of machined parts.
Conduct quality checks on finished products using basic math skills and measurement tools to verify dimensions.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety standards at all times.
Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving assembly or tooling modifications.

Qualifications

Proven experience in CNC machining and manual machining processes.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and interpreting CAD files using SolidWorks or similar software.
Knowledge of grinding, milling and welding
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery confidently.
Strong understanding of tooling setup, basic mathematics for measurements, and quality control procedures.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and safety compliance.
