Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant / Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care within a care home environment, supporting residents with their daily needs and ensuring their well-being. This position offers an opportunity to utilise your leadership skills and make a positive difference in the lives of those in your care. The role involves supervising junior staff, implementing care plans, and maintaining effective communication with residents, families, and the wider healthcare team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs.

Duties

Provide personalised care to residents, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
Support the implementation and review of individualised care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
Supervise and mentor junior care staff, fostering a supportive and professional environment
Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
Assist with organising activities that promote residents’ social engagement and mental wellbeing
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and infection control protocols

Qualifications

Previous experience working within a care home or senior care setting is highly desirable
Supervising or leadership experience within healthcare environments is advantageous
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, essential for effective interaction with residents and team members
IT literacy skills for maintaining accurate records and updating electronic care plans
Driving licence preferred to support transportation requirements
Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable adults
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the care setting
