Full job description

About AURA

AURA Veterinary is a world-renowned centre for excellence in oncology, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and interventional radiology based in Guildford. Our focus is on delivering the best possible outcomes for the dogs and cats who are referred to us for treatment. We offer secondary and tertiary-level clinical expertise and exceptional animal care, rooted in a commitment to uphold the highest standards in veterinary science. The facilities at AURA are state-of-the-art and include four operating theatres, 160 slice CT scanner, with Injector pump, C-arm fluoroscopy unit, Cell-salvage auto-transfusion unit, intra-operative imaging with Near-InfraRed Fluorescence (NIRF), Interventional Radiology suite, minimally invasive surgical equipment, cystoscopy/endoscopy/bronchoscopy, 2 chemotherapy rooms plus hood room, contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS), digital radiography and full in-house laboratory.

SUMMARY OF ROLE

At AURA we are looking for a person to join our front of house team on a part time basis. You will be an experienced Receptionist or have previous customer service experience who will provide excellent service to clients and colleagues at our state-of-the-art Veterinary oncology, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and interventional radiology hospital based in Guildford. You will report to the Front of House Supervisor and work collaboratively with other team members, clients and colleagues to meet the needs of patients and their owners, improving the service delivery and patient journey.

Together we will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care together with compassionate communication for patients referred to AURA Veterinary. You will be care driven, exceptionally organised, thorough, have excellent communication skills and be able to operate in a 24/7 team environment.

WORK HOURS

16 hours per week (4 hours each on Thursday and Friday between 4pm-8pm, Saturday from 9pm to 5pm).

SALARY

£28,686.40 FTE, based on a standard 40 hour working week.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Meet and greet clients providing a first point of contact on arrival at the hospital.
Maintain the reception area, keeping all facilities fully stocked.
Book client appointments.
Uphold the high standards of client care by ensuring efficient and accurate communication with clients & colleagues.
First point of contact for telephone calls and emails, answering queries, re-routing calls and taking messages.
Maintain accurate up to date records for patients.
Deal with emotional situations in a professional manner.

FINANCIAL

Comply with financial control policies.
Take cash and card payments using the hospital system.
Assist with basic finance and insurance queries and escalating for the attention of the finance department where necessary.
Assist the finance team regarding outstanding balances.
