About the Role

The post holder is responsible for undertaking a wide range of manufacturing processes operating to high standards of quality whilst promoting and supporting continuous improvement within the Machine Shop.

Responsibilities & Duties

Independently set up and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines and multi-turret CNC lathes.
Install tooling, fixtures and workpieces and maintain CNC programs.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and production documentation.
Inspect completed parts against engineering drawings and specifications.
Meet target cycle times and production schedules.
Complete daily pre-start checks and operate all machinery in accordance with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for someone who has the following qualifications and experience:

GCSE English and Maths
Able to read, understand and fully interpret engineering drawings.
Experience in multi axis CNC machine tools milling and turning in a cellular environment.
Experience of modern manufacturing techniques.
Recognised served engineering apprenticeship, City and Guilds or equivalent.
Manual handling - lift products up to a maximum 25kg unaided
Good Communication
Ability to understand CNC Programme code and Operation
Previous experience using Haas machines and Fanuc controls

Overtime: 1.5 x basic rate
