Temporary Fixed-Term until 20th May 2027

Warehouse Operative - Pick and Dispatch Packers

Trowell Garden Centre has been established since the 1970’s as a family business. Our online presence has been growing with increasing speed, supplying gardening and christmas goods to the general public. We have a small online friendly team who provide excellent customer service and we are currently looking for two Temporary Fixed-Term additions to our team to work from August 2026 to 20th May 2027. Previous experience of Picking and Packing preferred but not essential as training can be given. You will be required to work to the high standards we have set to exceed our customer expectations.

Job Purpose:

To manage pick orders and physically pull inventory from the shelves to ensure accurate delivery of Garden Centre eCommerce products. Likewise, accurately packing of orders, including the printing/attachment of the correct packing slips and postage labels. Preparing parcels for collection, placing in the correct delivery cage or shrink wrapping onto pallets for delivery. Ensuring orders are accurate and records are kept up to date for a smooth flow in operations. Assistance with local deliveries. Processing of returns and checking of goods inwards.

Warehouse Operative - Pick and Dispatch Packer Skills/Experience:

· Good Literacy skills

· Basic I.T. skills / Computer literate

· Good Communication Skills

· Ability to Work Well in a Team but Be Self-Motivated and Independent at Times

· Methodical mind-set

· Keen Attention to Detail, highly organised

· Positive Attitude

· Creative Thinking with regards to the best way of safely sending out parcels.

· Active with an Ability to Stay on Feet for Long Periods of Time

· Ability to Work in a Fast Paced, Busy Environment

· Ability to Lift Heavy Objects.

· Safety Conscious

· Previous Experience of Picking and Packing Preferred

· Experience Working with an RF Scanner Preferred

· Alternate Weekend Working

Work remotely

Position 1 Average 3 day week with an average of 20.50 hours per week

Week 1: Monday 8.30 -4.00 / Thursday 8.30-4.00 / Friday 8.30-4.00

Week 2: Monday 8.30 -4.00 / Thursday 8.30-4.00 / Sunday 9.30-4.00

Position 2 Average 2 days a week with an average 14 hours a week

Week 1: Tuesday 8.30-4.00

Week 2: Tuesday 8.30-4.00 / Friday 8.30-4.00 / Saturday 8.30-4.00

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
