Full job description

Job Description:

Gardens by Grace is a small business specialising in private and commercial landscape design, installation and maintenance. A large proportion of your work will be garden & landscape maintenance with intermittent work helping with planting projects.

Your role will include but not restricted to:

Garden Maintenance – Grass cutting, strimming, weeding, prunning etc of mainly show home arenas, open green spaces and some private gardens.
Planting / Turfing / Mulching flower beds.
Operate hand tools and power tools and garden machinery safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
Follow all health and safety training and risk assessments and wear the correct PPE provided at all times
You will work with another person initially but will be required to work alone on a regular basis once you are comfortable with the role. Sometimes you will work with an another person or more.
Driving to and from sites that are on the maintenance round.

Experience:

Previous gardening / maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (you must dress appropriately for the weather with waterproofs when necessary).
Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks including lifting, digging, and being on the move for your shift.
Energetic with a methodical work ethic to get the most out of the day.
A keen eye for detail to ensure high standards of garden aesthetics are maintained.
Conscientious and care about doing a good job and not cutting corners.
Ability to listen and follow instructions you are given and not afraid to ask if unsure.
PA1 & 6 Pesticides License would be advantageous.
Training will be provided so you are aware of the standards required.
You must be punctual and reliable.
Full UK Driving License
Must have or obtain a CSCS card, minimum temporary workers card or green labourer card (compensated over first 4 weeks of work).

Hours:

Full Time - Contract averages 37.5hrs over the year.
Part Time - Minimum contract to average 24hrs over the year. Possibly more available - Can discuss options on application.

Contract:

Permanent for experienced candidates.

Unexperienced candidates may be offered temp to perm - all going well, there may be an opportunity to turn this into a permanent position.

Pay: £13.75p/h
