Full job description

Overview

An excellent opportunity for a Skilled HGV mechanic to join our busy team

Additional training is offered in any area needed as we work on a variety of commercial vehicles from vans, trailer, tractor units, rigids, low loaders and much more

Responsibilities

Install electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and specialized equipment following schematics and technical drawings
Conduct soldering and electrical connections with precision to ensure reliable operation of all installed systems
Use heavy lifting techniques safely to handle large or bulky parts during installation or repair processes
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and troubleshoot issues related to mechanical or electrical systems
Collaborate with team members to interpret schematics, technical instructions, and safety protocols for efficient workflow

Requirements

Proven experience in mechanical assembly within an automotive or similar environment
Strong knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to repair and maintain various vehicle components and equipment
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
Electrical experience combined with knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards is highly desirable
