Full job description

Manuka Roofing Ltd is a specialist roofing company serving the commercial, industrial, and domestic sectors across the U.K. Established in 2012, we have continued to grow year on year, providing our employees with a supportive and progressive working environment.

Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing Commercial team.

The Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate project costings and bid proposals, working closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated professional with proven experience in the roofing industry.

Key Responsibilities

Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine project requirements.
Carry out detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and explore value engineering options.
Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals within deadlines.
Maintain and update a database of historical cost data for future reference.
Monitor project costs during construction and provide regular progress reports.
Attend on-site meetings as required.
Support the Commercial team in delivering its full range of functions.

Skills & Attributes

Strong knowledge of roofing practices, costs, processes, and industry requirements.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a sharp attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and estimating software (e.g., Estimate, Planswift).

Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction sector, specifically within flat roofing systems (Single Ply, Built-up Felt, Liquid Applied, Hot Melt).
Sound understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
Experience in industrial/commercial roofing and/or traditional pitched roofing is advantageous.
References required.
