About the role

We’re looking for a full-time Baker to join our bakery team, producing artisan sourdough and a range of pastries and cakes.

This role is ideal for:

An experienced baker looking for a quality-focused environment
A chef who wants to move into baking and pastry
A passionate home baker ready to turn their craft into a career

What You’ll Be Doing

Baking artisan sourdough, pastries and cakes each day
Following recipes and production systems to keep everything consistent and organised
Working with fermentation and dough development (training provided where needed)
Keeping your station, equipment, and shared spaces clean and well cared for
Communicating clearly with the team to support smooth production and handovers
Thinking ahead and helping set up the team for success over the next few days

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings care, reliability, and a great attitude.

Essential

A genuine interest in baking and willingness to learn
Strong attention to detail and pride in doing things well
A clean and organised working style
Reliability and punctuality (turning up on time matters)
Clear communication and good teamwork
A respectful approach to equipment, ingredients, and colleagues

Desirable (but not essential)

Professional baking, pastry, or kitchen experience
Experience with sourdough fermentation or plant-based baking
Food Safety Level 2 (or willingness to obtain)

If you haven’t worked in a bakery before but bake regularly at home and want to learn professionally, we still encourage you to apply.

Location

Chester City Centre – Bridge Street, Chester, CH1 1NQ

Pay & Hours

Full-time: 36-45 hours per week
Salary: £13 - £14 per hour - equivalent of circa £30,000 per annum (up to £32,500 depending on experience)
Shifts: 6:00am – 3:30pm
