We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Mill Machinist to join our busy team at our Dewsbury branch.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to build a career within the timber industry. No previous woodmill machining experience is required, as full training will be provided. We're looking for an individual with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the commitment to develop new skills within a fast-paced environment.

Trainee Machinist Role Responsibility

Learn to safely operate a range of woodworking machinery, including Multihead Moulder, Spindle Moulder, Band Saw and Cross Cut Saw
Be trained to manufacture timber products to customer specifications and quality standards, including measuring, cutting and machining timber accurately and efficiently.
Carry out quality checks to ensure finished products meet required standards.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Assist with the handling, storage and movement of timber products.
Undertake training and development activities as required.
Liaising with customers as to their timber requirements.
Assist with general yard operations and work closely and effectively with the whole branch team.
Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment, adhering to the Company’s health and safety policy and procedure at all times

What are the requirements to become part of our team?

Full UK manual driving licence
FLT and/or sideloader licence (desirable)
A positive attitude and strong willingness to learn.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Good practical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A flexible and reliable approach to work.
Availability to work full time, Monday to Friday inclusive (no Saturdays required)
