Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Tree Surgeon, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the health, safety, and beauty of urban and rural landscapes. This energetic position involves performing skilled tree pruning, removal, and planting activities, ensuring trees are safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing. You will work outdoors in various environments, utilizing your expertise to support sustainable landscape management and contribute to community green spaces. Responsibilities

Safely perform tree pruning, crown reduction, cabling, bracing, and removal using specialized hand tools and power equipment
Operate machinery such as excavators and other construction equipment to assist with large-scale tree work and site preparation
Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including planting new trees, mulching, fertilizing, and irrigation system installation or repair
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain tools, power tools, and machinery ensuring optimal performance
Assist with gardening activities to promote healthy growth of trees and surrounding vegetation
Support construction projects related to landscape enhancement or infrastructure improvements involving trees and green spaces
Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to prevent accidents and ensure team well-being

Qualifications

Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture with a focus on tree care
Strong mechanical knowledge of tools such as chainsaws, trimmers, drills, and other power tools
Hands-on experience with hand tools including pruners, saws, axes, and shovels
Familiarity with operating excavators or similar machinery for large-scale tree work or site excavation
Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance is a plus
Construction experience related to outdoor projects is advantageous
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions
Relevant certifications or training in arboriculture or horticulture are preferred
